Interim Financial Controller – 3-6 Months
We are working exclusively with our client, a well-respected business, to recruit an interim FC for a period of 3-6 months.
Reporting directly to the COO you will have responsibility for the finance team and oversee the financial function of the business.

Responsibilities:
  • Take control and lead the company’s accounting function
  • Lead, develop & grow the finance team
  • Stretch the finance team with projects to grow their knowledge & insights
  • Undertake a review and constantly improve the financial processes to ensure they are robust, compliant and support current activities and future growth
  • Model, monitor and improve the short, medium, and long-term cash position of the business.
  • Assist growing the business to self-sufficiently by supporting the aim of improving the cash conversion cycle
  • Assume ultimate responsibility for daily monitoring and trending graphically for clear understanding
  • Develop consolidation of group cash
  • Dashboards:  develop with IT to show clear graphical, insightful information to aid decision making
  • Modelling:  forecasting and model the financial requirements to meet the strategic intent to grow self-sufficiently with ever decreasing need for external funding [with the management accountant]
  • Oversee internal budgets, monitoring and redressing to ensure compliance
  • Modelling:  continually model and assess performance whilst providing insight and direction to the Board to achieve the businesses financial aspirations
  • Review the corporate & legal structure of the business incorporating the growing international dimension and make recommendations for change to the Board
  • Determine best possible intercompany pricing agreement for maximum tax efficiency
  • MI Pack: timely reporting within 3 working days of month end, remotely manage USA month end, provide insightful analysis to aid decision making, develop consolidation to group accounts and provide concise insight and commentary to aid decision making
  • IT:  oversee the company’s financial IT requirements
  • Regulatory: ensure the regulatory requirements of the statuary bodies are met by country and region
  • Forex:  forecast, model and propose currency requirements to mitigate and manage risk for a minimum 9 month view
  • Managing financial, tax & HMRC audits.
  • Consistently iterate and ensure the business is up to date with accounting policies and practices
  • Undertake competitor analyses on key metrics and provide insights for the Board
  • Management of Insurance requirements and tender
  • Work with internal teams to provide financial insights
  • Ad hoc projects including such things as new ERP; financial modelling; cost centre analysis or any other financial or commercial project as set by COO
  • Managing the wider company accounts where deemed necessary by the ownership
  • Constant awareness of the company’s financial position and acting to prevent problems
  • Demonstrating leadership & building strong, long-lasting relationships with colleagues
  • Presentations:  present KPIs to internal stakeholders.
  • Presentations:  provide information to enable the COO to present KPIs; management information or modelling etc to external stakeholders
