The Role
  • This is an opportunity to work within a fast-paced environment, liaising with senior management to provide accurate financial reporting. Responsible for the Accounting team within the Finance function, preparation of key financial data and ensuring compliance with key external reporting requirements.
  • Reporting to the General Manager you will be key in providing management information and financial reporting for the Pontypool site complying with group reporting rules.
  • You will gain exposure to all areas of the business such as the Technical Sales team, Production Team, R&D, Project Management etc, from deal origination to month end period end processes.
  • The role involves occasional travel to other sites in the UK and worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver accurate and timely management accounts to senior management team in line with set deadlines
  • Completion of monthly board pack to agreed deadlines
  • Accounting Lead on key Partnerships and new Funding relationships
  • Cash management of cash pool and bank accounts
  • Bank account administration for all group bank accounts
  • Ensure that corporate governance standards are clear and maintained through a process of ongoing balance sheet reviews and a strong control environment
  • Deliver routine and ad-hoc analysis, as requested by senior managers and the board of directors
  • Oversea the maintenance of the purchase ledger and ensure bank reconciliations are completed on a timely basis
  • Preparation and processing of monthly payroll and group pension scheme administration.
  • Ensure compliance reporting deadlines are met (VAT, Corporation Tax, VAT etc)
  • Co-ordinate financial system training and improvements to drive value from the system
  • Drive reporting quality through process improvement
  • Develop and mentor the small team to achieve targets and simultaneously improve quality
  • Help to define career progression routes, be involved in succession planning requirements within the team through development and training of staff
  • Liaise with external auditors in the preparation of the statutory accounts
  • Deliver team objectives through effective use of Performance Development Plans / Reviews
