Our client has a fantastic business with a great reputation and positive culture; they are looking to recruit a Purchase Ledger Manager to join their award-winning team based in Newport.  Heading up a team of five within finance you will play a key role in facilitating the company’s planning and growth strategy.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to;
  • To be the first point of escalation for all AP, AR and cashbook queries
  • Co-ordinating with other departments to ensure the timely resolution of queries and to help develop improved controls and procedures
  • Managing the Purchase ledger, including monitoring and assisting the team with the checking, matching and entering invoices from suppliers based in the UK and abroad
  • Managing the Sales ledger, including monitoring and assisting the team with posting receipts against customer accounts
  • Managing the cashbook, including monitoring and assisting the team with reconciling the company bank accounts
  • Ensuring your teams meet their month end deadlines
  • Managing, motivating and developing direct reports
  • Assisting the management accounts team with the year end audit

The ideal candidate
  • Experience of AP, AR and bank reconciliations
  • Knowledge and experience in the use of accounting and Microsoft packages including strong Excel skills
  • Experience using Microsoft Navision is desirable
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • The ability to work to monthly deadlines
  • Great at keeping on top of things
  • Fantastic communication and amazing people skills
  • You will have experience of supervising a team, or you may be ready to take the next step in your career to progress into a supervisor role
  • Being an excellent team player is vital to this role
  • Strong ethical working practices in line with company values
