Job Requirements:                                               
Our client, a well-established business based in Newport is working with us to recruit an Accounts Assistant to join their successful team.

Main Objective:                                               
  • To participate and assist in the timely preparation and smooth distribution of all Management Information required for running the business and meeting group deadlines.
Daily Tasks
  • Assist Cash book clerk in cash book entries
  • Run daily Aged Debt
  • Run daily Credit Control diary information for Credit Control Manager
Weekly Tasks
  • Run weekly credit report
  • Weekly Timesheet/Holiday Board
  • Help Prepare Weekly Forecasts for review
Monthly Tasks
  • Assist Management Accountants with Preparation of monthly accounts in accordance with company accounting policies and procedures
  • Assist Management Accountant in Recharges etc.
  • Prepare Monthly Accounts packs for FC Commentary
  • Run depreciation journal
  • Post Journals for Management Accountant and FC.
  • Assist in preparing data for Journals.
  • Prepare AP Creditors breakdown for Balance Sheet Variance Letter
  • Assist in Completion of Monthly VAT submissions
  • Collating incentive information for Annual PSA return and P11d’s
  • Collating information for year-end packs
Annual/Various
  • Assist in Set up of Budgets, forecasts, salary reviews etc as required
  • Assist in Uploading Budgets and forecasts within deadlines
  • Prepare budget and forecast packs, graphs etc as required by management
  • Quarterly Petty Cash Counts and Fixed Asset verifications
  • Assist Admin Assistants with Prepaids accounts
  • Ad hoc reports for management
Job Requirements                                          
  • Computer literate with good Excel skills and solid understanding of accounting software principles
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to plan and organise workload
  • Strong communication skills and ability to deal with financial and non-financial individuals
  • Ability to identify and solve problems
  • Work as part of a team
Organisational Accountabilities:
  • Part of Finance team
  • Reporting to Management Accountant
  • No direct reports

  • Keep up to date with current legislation and generally accepted accounting practices
