Our client, an established manufacturer demonstrating steady growth, is looking to formalise the finance function locally to
drive valuable efficiencies and align reporting to Group. There is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to progress and
assist at Group level as the business continues to acquire and grow organically.
Main purpose of job:
- Manage all finance functions ensuring accounts are finalised within set deadlines.
- Supervise the daily activities of the accounts team.
- Work with the wider business to ensure efficiencies are gained.
- Working closely with the Group CFO to ensure consistencies, efficiencies and improvements are maintained.
Main responsibilities & key tasks:
- Complete month and year end procedures as required and provide accurate and timely monthly management accounts.
- Managing, training and setting objectives with the accounts team.
- Ensuring compliance with accounting principles and Group practice and detect any accounting errors and resolve.
- Daily management of cash flow, minimising exposure to stock and work in progress with business managers.
- Create and maintain good relationships with suppliers Oversee the credit control function and manage invoice finance
requirements including audits and reconciliations as necessary.
- Post all bank transactions: customer and supplier payments, miscellaneous payments, direct debits etc.
- Reconcile bank accounts.
- Manage foreign currency requirements with Group colleagues and assist the CFO with any tasks as required
- Liaison with key stakeholders: Directors, Auditors, Bankers, HMRC.
- Oversee the sales and purchase ledgers to ensure they are well maintained.
- Investigate unallocated transactions and review all purchase transactions for coding etc.
Knowledge and skills:
- Highly computer literate with an excellent working knowledge of Word, Excel and ERP/MRP systems.
- A recognised accounting qualification, or qualified by experience.
- A self-starter with a thorough knowledge and working experience of managing an accounts team is essential.
- A flexible attitude to changing demand and business direction and a strong team player and leader.
- A background in manufacturing business(es) will be an advantage
- Some International travel may be required.
