Our global client is looking for an experienced Financial Controller to join the UK arm of their business based in Swansea.

This newly created role is looking for the Financial Controller to become a key member within the Senior Management Team reporting directly to the UK Managing Director and the European Finance Director based in an overseas office.

Key Responsibilities
  • You’ll be responsible for managing all of the UK finance operation, which includes but is not limited to:
  • Managing all accounting operations including Billing, Accounts Receivable, Accounts, Payable, General Ledger and Counsel, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition; Examine all financial reports and data closely to check for discrepancies
  • Debt Management and collection
  • Cash flow management
  • Supporting month-end and year-end close process
  • Developing financial Strategy including risk minimisation plans; high-level financial reporting and analysis; Working closely with executive teams to share reports and analyse findings
  • Developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain and
  • strengthen internal controls; Create monthly and annual reports to identify results, trends, and financial forecasts; Creating systems to prevent errors in data collection and calculations
  • Regular budget consolidation; Reconciling balance sheets and delivering summary
  • reconciliation reports to the executive team; Helping implement financial reporting systems to comply with government regulations and legislation
  • Improving efficiencies and reducing costs across the business; Working with the internal teams and accounting partner to streamline processes and improve the financial health of the company; Suggest updates and improvements for accounting systems; Review all financial plans and budgets regularly to look for cost reduction opportunities
  • Stakeholder and team management supervising and managing financial department staff
  • Motivating and leading the finance team members by clarifying roles and providing helpful
  • feedback; Using well-developed leadership skills; Mentoring
  • Collaborating with the HR/payroll group to ensure that all deductions and payroll activities are compliant with payroll law; Ensuring compliance with statutory law and financial
  • regulations; Overseeing activities related to employee HMRC tax compliance issues and liaise with outsourced Accountancy firm for Company reporting
  • Overseeing new technology introduction and maintenance
  • Ensuring that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported
  • Collaborating with auditing services to ensure proper compliance with all regulations

Ideally you will have:
  • Bachelor’s Degree ideally in Accounting (Master’s degree preferred)
  • Valid AAT status
  • 5+ years’ experience in a managerial accounting position
  • Good understanding of tax and related laws
  • Proficiency with accounting software required
  • People person who is a good listener and a strong manager
