We are working exclusively with our SME client who are renowned for their high levels of service and teamwork ethics.  Based in Newport, you will be part of a friendly and supportive team.

Our client is open on whether this role is full or part time as they can accommodate both; Part-time is a 32-hour week, ideally over 3 or 4 days but they will also consider 5 shorter days, or 5 full days if full time.

The role would be office based but they will consider flexibility dependant on the candidate.

Duties:

Reporting to the Head of Finance, the job holder will maintain both the sales and purchase ledgers, focusing on debt collection and managing supplier payments in line with company procedures.

  • Maintain the Aged Debtors, systematically follow up overdue accounts
  • Resolve customer disputes
  • Issue statements and copy invoices
  • Maintain the Aged Creditors
  • Reconcile supplier statements
  • Prepare supplier payment runs
  • Resolve supplier disputes
  • Ad-Hoc queries

Desirable:

  • Very good knowledge of a finance function, understand terminology, practises and procedures
  • People person who enjoys customer and supplier interactions
  • Excellent IT skills (knowledge of Xero preferred but not essential)
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexible and helpful team player

Salary and Benefits:
£23k to £25k (pro-rata if part time) + pension scheme + a holiday entitlement of 25 days plus bank holidays per annum.
