We are working exclusively with our manufacturing client based in the Newport area to recruit a Finance Business Partner to join their fast-paced team.

You will be responsible for monitoring, forecasting and reporting on the financial performance of programmes during the life of the project development and production stages.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Management of regular meetings with programme managers (PM’s) to:
  • Ensure finance forecasting and control remains an integral part of programme planning
  • Enable detailed review of estimates to complete for product Development and costing of products during the production stages ensuring there is a risk based approach to reviews
  • Variance analysis of actuals v previous forecast
  • Establish key risks and opportunities for each programme
  • Issue of minutes/actions from meetings
  • Follow up to ensure feedback/actions are followed up promptly
  • Validation of financial information used by PM’s for presentations
  • Prepare phased Financial Business Plans comparing actual to original bid and current year budget / reforecast
  • Prepare month end accounts
  • Prepare rolling forecast / Budget, Revenue and Margin and product costing for production
  • Preparation of Capitalised Development Business Cases for new internally funded product developments
  • Attend the weekly Executive Programme Review Meeting (EPRM)
  • Chair the monthly Finance EPRM
  • Point of contact for programmes finance internal and external audits
  • Ad hoc duties to support the business that may vary over time, and undertake other duties and responsibilities relevant to the nature, level and scope of the role

Qualifications and skills required:

  • 2:1 or higher University Degree, Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) or QBE
  • Considerable experience in the review of financial information and variance reporting/analysis
  • Experience in review and preparation of budgeting, forecasting, financial plans and writing and/or delivering financial training
  • Experience of conducting internal or external audits
  • Programme/Project accounting experience desirable
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate financial information to non-finance staff
  • Confident communicator at all levels of the organisation with the ability to build relationships through the business across different levels of management
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Excellent time management skills with an organised and structured approach to work
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines with a high attention to detail
  • Resilience and ability to manage pressure with a professional attitude
  • Flexible approach to work
  • Strong IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Word and Excel
